Organized poker tournaments have recently started to prop up on the horizon of world sports/games. Formerly, only a few, unorganized events were arranged with respect to poker, but now, major international tournaments (two of them being the World Poker Tour and the World series of poker) are being organized in order to boost the following of the game at the international level. All major Poker tournaments are held at Las Vegas- the gambling capital of the world. Usually, players are supposed to purchase a fixed number of Buy-ins in order to be able to compete in a Poker tournament. These are basically tokens and have no cash value- they have only notational value. These chips are transferred from player to player, depending upon the rules of the Poker game being played. In some cases- which remain a very limited number- players are allowed to buy-back more such chips in order to stay alive in their game. These chips are usually called add ons. If a player is left with no chips towards the end of the game, he is declared the looser. Therefore, in order to stay in the game, a player must not only save his initial number of chips, but ensure that he captures chips from the players in the competition as well.
